what harnesses are you using in it matey? Just noticed that the side hole in the seat is a bit blocked by the subframe. Or is that yet to be tweaked?

Ive got some LUKE 3" harnesses to use and i also noticed the subframe covered the hole but until i have it on it's wheeels and a final seat fitting with all the steering column and pedals in place i cant be sure on the height of the seat so best not to chop it off yet!!!!!!

I only tried them to make sure the new kit fitted the seats befor i sold the steel items

The whole car is balancing on a black and decker workmate at the moment as the stands i borrowed from my mate steve who cut the back end out had to go back to him today and i couldnt lift the shell on my own so i had to get it off them some how, i got two breakfast bar stools under the front and rear just in case it tips up a bit (the wife aint too happy though   ) A few mates are arriving tomorrow to lower it too the floor ready to fit the subframes

Cheers Mark :wales:

Ive also had a few pm's and e-mails about the new steel subframes i have removed.
I want £20 for the 2 sets and the hole centres are approximately 290 mm but there is a bit of leeway as the holes are slotted.
Postage to mainland britain would be £10
Paypal would be preferred.

e-mail me on my link below if any of you want them???

Cheers Mark :wales:

Subframes Now sold.......

Thanks Mark :wales:

Here is the rebuilt hub, new ball joints, wheel bearings along with the tarox vented discs!!!!!!

The four small bolts are for the speedo sensor and the large bolt in the middle is to help hold the stub while i torque the wheel bearings, but is removed once they are done.

It should be ok, nothing a quick rub the file (Angle grinder) wont fix, The easy fix would be to use metro flanges but it is wide enough already so we will stick with mini items........

I just need to put this lot together now and get off this damm computer.....

Mark
Before you go grinding away at your steering arms, have you trial fitted the calipers and pads to ensure they line up. When I built mine it all worked fine untill I fitted the calipers. I am using metro calipers though so it may be different for you. Found I had to go for metro hubs.

Hi Pete, what you say is correct but you can buy/make spacers (and longer bolts)to set the caliper back and line it up with the disc properely.

If you are suffering with too much front track(width) it may be a way to lose a few mm??? well about 12mm but i cna measure them acuratley with a micrometer if you want to make any?

UPDATE.

Front subframe is refitted in the shell tonite, all hubs and brakes mounted ok now, just a little fettlin to give adequete clearance on the steering arms to disc. I hope to get it ready to fit the rear frame in by the weekend for a trial fit :dontgetit:
Ive got the rear wheelarches to trim back aswell as i have now downloaded and made the sportspack wheelarch templates from minispares website.

More progress than last nite

Cheers Mark :wales:

Ps gotta a link to the tech forum on what to do with the pedal box/master cylinderCLICKY TECH LINK.....

If you need a hand at the weekend with heavy bits, I can probably pop round!

Sounds like you are making good progress! How much are you gonna trim out of the rear arches? I guess you'll be having it sit nice and low?
