Mark, did you go out for a test drive while you were up at Z-cars? If so, what did you reckon?

Cheers
D.D.

I had a ride in the red busa powered car in august just before i ordered my kit. I was totally amazed at the power of the car and hence why im building one!!!!!!

I have now finally managed to get the shell cut out ready for the kit which is hopefully ready next tuesday for collection??????? :)

I got my mate steve to cut the shell with his Plasma cutter as it would be easier and neater and it was worth it.........
Heres a picture of him in action........

And this is what it looks like now..........

It just requires a little bit of finishing off in the hard to reach areas but it only took 3 hours to cut it all out.

Im off to order my wheels, arches, adjustable bottom arms and new tie rods to get her ready to roll when the kit arrives.
More updates soon........

Well that seems to be the plan now, sportspack arches, red/white body, all the cooper stuff i removed, except chris at z-cars did not recommend i used the 6" wide wheels (sportspack) as it will be a little bit lively and the wider track helps so 7" minilites is what it's having.

Mark,

have you decided to go for the sportspack arches then? Chris is very definitely a proponent of them isn't he?

Will you be conducting a dry build prior to painting your shell?

Keep up the good work.

Yep, sportspack it is!!! I have decided on spec etc and what i will use it for etc and have gone for the road car look as it was a genuine cooper anyway i have all the goodies and badges etc so that how it will stay, if i had started from a bare shell or a minus then maybe things would have been different???

As we made the first incision into the rear i could just imagine all the cooper brigrade just cringing at the thought :) ;)

I will virtually build the car up, do all the body repairs, seam welding, all the little brackets, drill all the holes etc and then strip it ready for blasting and painting to take place.
While it is getting painted i will have some time to figure out all the wiring looms!!

Mark :wales:

Ps i will post some more when i get the kit in the week and if there is anything interesting at z-cars, the type -r should be finished now as it's at the kit car show in donnington this weekend.

You know, I've been wondering about that twin-turbo-busa Ultima. I thought I read somewhere that it was a (really expensive) customer car, someone in South America?

...it's been close to "done" (not that you're ever done with something that extreme) for almost a year I think...I'm sure Chris is sorting it properly before shipping...lots to sort I'm sure

Congrats on the kit Mark....
