Gettin the miles on it now, Went to my local mini club wednesday nite for a big meet up and a few laffs with the crewe boys with their big ICE systems in their boot until i opened my boot and let it rip!!!! :w00t: :w00t:

As for a big meet up we will have either pick an event soon or arrange to meet somwhere central to everyone who's interested???

Im on the case.............Maybe a trackday???? as thats what their built for.

Off to a local show again tomorrow in aid of a charity as it gets a lot of attention for some reason?? :w00t: :(

Cheers

Yes, but even so it may still be on the loud side. I don't know.

I suppose the only way to find out is to go on a trackday.....

I havnt been in the garage for a while to even look at the mini but i had some spare time today after work so ive taken it up to my local weighbridge to get a rough idea of how much it weighs and it came out at 580kgs with a full tank of fuel which is very good considering it has the Hayabusa engine fitted and is about 25kg heavier than the R1 unit.
Going to have it noise checked friday afternoon as there is an RAC MSA noise official in our local motor club who is willing to measure it for me before i enter a trackday.

Will keep you posted...................

Cheers

Just got back from the noise tester:
Without baffle at 2/3 Max RPM (7150) = 110 dba
With baffle At 2/3 Max Rpm = 108 dba
Rev Limiter at 10750.

So No chance of it passing a noise test as it is at any trackday, but it is ok for The sprint and hilclimb regulations in the sports libre class.

Will look into fitting a std exhaust can on or maybe have a pukka repackable system made sometime in the future but for now it aint worth entering a trackday.
Be warned fellow Z-cars Minis owners, they wont pass noise.
Hence the twin silencer Chris had to fit in order to pass noise at oulton park.............

Hate to say I told you so..

by the way it should be tested at 3/4 max revs, not 2/3, so it would be even louder!!!

I tried a repackable can at Simpsons race exhausts and it was even louder than a standard can....so you will need quite a big one

Mine was about 126dB to start with and now 102dB so there is some hope yet!

Not been doing much with the mini for a while whilst the Visa cooled down!!!!! but after a lot of phonecalls and getting some quotes in for a suitable system to get the noise down below 100db, it is booked in for the end of November at simpsons to make a massive silencer and the nessecary pipework.
At the moment i have removed the driveshafts to fit some new CV boots as the originals are universal boots and are spraying black grease everywhere!!! :w00t:
I am also going to raise the rear arches whilst the car is in peices so i can lower it a bit more.
Then got to clean it up ready for Mr Stent and Co......:P :P
