It's comin on well Mark! Do the oil cooler pipes sit close to the exhaust manifold/downpipe? Looks like it!

And where did you go on the bike? :dozing:

That is as close as i can get the pipes to the engine but that is how they are on the bike anyway as ive used the original hose tail fittings on the block, it is high temperatue hydraulic hose so it should be ok???

I went up to Llandegla forest this afternoon with a neighbour who has just bought himself a mountain bike, on the way down there was a chap on the trail who had just had an accident and it looked very serious as it had split his bike helmet in half and the air ambulance was on its way.

I will have to get down to you for a look at your BADBOY and return these wheels to BARNEY!!!
Maybe one evening this week?
Cheers

Thanks, it still has a bit o go yet but were on the downhill slope now, i hope to get it fired up this week!! :dozing: :(

just been on e-bay and i can fit 3 80mm square computer fans(FANS LINK) next to each other on the back of the cooler to blow some air through, it should be better than nothing but not as good as 100Mph+ it used to get when it was on the bike!!!!
I will probably have them wired direct to the ignition so they are running when the engine is running?
Anyone else got any better ideas?

Cheers

DO you want them running all of the time? And looking at the fans they are only 170mA you can get much more powerfull ones than that but would be a fair bit noisier.
Il have a look for you tomorrow after my exam to see what I can find :dozing:

Get 3 Vantec Tornados!! 84cfm, you might hear them whining but then the engine will probably cover the sound.

Hi, i dont think noise will be an issue really and the current draw will be ok really to run them all the time.
Will check out e-bay later for some ..............

No they are made thermo set plastics and so burn, not melt at very high temperatures.

oil temp will be around 120 - 130 degrees

I did consider a water cooled oil cooler but they were very expensive but would have solved the problem completely!!

I better check the temp range of the fans but they wont be mounted directly to the cooler as i plan to make a small alloy frame to bolt them to then attatch it to the cooler at the ends in the mounting holes.

The tornados are around £5 each on e-bay so it cant be bad

My badboy aint really any further on, I am waiting for some gearbox bolts before I go any further.

If you want to pop the wheels down that's fine yeah. Could even meet up at the local mini club on wednesday night and go there with Barney!
