I havnt spent the ££££ so it is always wise to evaluate all the options, next pile of cash is planned for the paint job and body repairs :fear:
Then for all the nice bit's to finish it off......
I cant wait to just get the kit into the shell and for it to sit on it's wheels again, those are the milestones in a project that spur you on to get it done.

The gauge thing will be up in the air till im ready to buy them, i have looked at the spa tacho and use a seperate dual digital gauge for fuel andwater temp, oil pressure. By the way, what batterys are you all running and where have you mounted them???

I havn't fitted a battery yet, but have a couple lying around which I trial fitted before paint, along with a securing strap behind the passenger seat. I'd like to use a bike battery though as they tend to be much smaller and lighter, but I don't know whether they'd be up to the job or not. I need advice on this one.
Incidentally, where have you taken/ are you planning on taking, the oil pressure capillary from? Presumably it's an electro-mechanical sender? I've seen some people take it from the inside of the oil cooler mounting bolt, but just wondered if this is the best place or not.

I have the Spa system and am very pleased with it. My battery is a lightweight racing one from Demon Thieves (got it as a xmas prezzy off my mum!), not had any problems with it yet, ive had it fitted for 2 years now. It is installed on a small tray in front of the fuel tank.
If you have a carb'd R1 you can use the cylinder head blanking plug as your oil pressure source.

Oil sender is fitted into cylinder head just above and to the left of the exhaust manifold. There's a 10mm bolt that you use to check pressure. We had an adapter made to go from 6mm external thread up to 1/8npt internal with a 1.5mm hole through the middle. The only problem we found was the tendancy to snap off the small 6mm threaded section when we fitted them. Managed to snap 3. Now they are fitted it works fine.
A friend has drilled out the bolt on the oil cooler and had it tapped to accept the sender unit. If you can fit it behind the manifold then I think this is the better way.

I am not fitting the front arches yet as i have to replace the wings, a-panels and scuttle so no point in chopping them yet.
