Hif44 Cable Connections

i got a new hif44 carb and was looking at the cable connections. and i couldn't work out how the cables work with the way the arms are set up. if you no what i mean.

Call me crazy but i'm sure my Hif44 throttle linkage is the other way around to yours :/ like yours looks upside down to me

yeah thats what i was thinking. do you have a pic of your hif44.

To me it seems yours has been set with the cable coming from the back by the air inlet, where mine comes from the inlet manifold.

Your choke isnt in the same place as mine either.

would it be a job for a professional to turn the arms round or could i do it myself?

I'm sure it would be fairly straight forward, you may need to get another linkage plate though, I'm not sure without looking.

I'm not sure those are the right linkages - HIF44 carbs were fitted to loads of different cars and yours may not have originally have been fitted to a Mini or Metro. Take a look at this exploded diagram on the Burlen website (this is the correct carb for a 1990 Mini Cooper). All the spares should be available from them if you find your linkages are not correct.

thanks for the help. i think i will take a trip to Burlen and see what they have to say. hopefuly they will change it.
