Finally striped & repainted my servo, fitted new master cylinders, fuel hoses, wiper motor, washer motor, air filters etc. Just have to bleed the system & paint the block now!

When refitting the copper pipes though most of them simply would'nt screw all the way in to the servo. (I can't remember if they went all the way in before I removed them). does everybody elses screw compleateley in?

Looking good!

Did you have the master cylinders polished or did they come like that?

Where are they from then? They're usually pretty bland...

NO! Stop trying! These fittings use a flare on the end of the pipe that compresses againt the brass and so seals. Don't try to force them fully home until the nuts are flush, you'll only damage something.

Where are they from then? They're usually pretty bland...

This is the new finish treatment for these cylinders, the old golden/green coloured finish was a hexa-valent chrome plating that has become illegal to use. I don't expect they will look like that for very long but then again I don't know what the new plating method is.

Looking good! As Dan says, the brake unions don't wind all the way in, just a little nip (if they weep then a little extra nip!). Tightening them too much will result in bu66ering the union nut or the port in one way or another.

Notice you've had the rad out - how difficult was it to get in and out? My experience is that when the proper clubman brackets and fan spacers are used there is very little room to do anything - last one took me 1/2 a day to get back in!

Going to have to come and see this car one day to take loads of reference notes and pics to put my GT back how it should be!

cheers guys!

yeah had the rad out twice (it's a massive pain in the ass)!!! I'm not sure it would be possible to undo the rad cowling bolts without a socket type spanner.

its weird what your saying about taking the radiator out, mine has come out a few times in the last few months and it was suprisingly easy. Spose all minis are slightly different.

Is yours a 1275GT or a clubman too? There's more and more coming out of the woodwork!

That's why it was easy! The arrangement in the later round nose cars does make life easier - that's development I suppose!
