hiya

i have just started to notice that i get some clicking noises coming from the front end of the car when on full lock whilst putting some power to the wheels.

the wheel bearings and ball joints were all renewed about a month ago for the MOT which it sailed through. its all running nice and smooth as far as i am aware.

what do you think could be causing this noise?

cheers

adam

Sounds like classic cv joints on their way out. Many a mini used to be scrapped for this but its not that bad a job to fix.

if thats what it is then thats good, as i can replace them myself

i have just had a look and noticed that on the drivers side CV gaiter it has become a bit loose over the cv and has lost quite a bit of grease

so i will get some CV grease, grease it up and see if that helps.

if not then i will just change the CV.

cheers

any other ideas??

I agree with Mister Bridger's diagnosis of CV joint. Clicking in hard lock is a sure sign it this...

Copied from haynes:
Clicking or knocking noise on turns (at slow speed on full-lock)
- Lack of constant velocity joint lubricant, possibly due to damaged gaiters (Chapter 8).
- Worn outer constant velocity joint (Chapter 8).

Ryan.
