Very nice example below of a Japanese Retro conversion on a 1998 Rover Mini Cooper 1.3i with air con (don't think Japan ever got the MPI/front rad?).........SU carb, 10" wheels/discs, centre speedo dash, toggle switches, Mk1 indicator/column, wing mirrors, external hinges, door check straps, rounded door corner at "A" panel base, early style full front valance and even sliding windows!

A little thread resurrection, as a Japanese Spec Mini owner I'm trying to find some help and pictures of how to get at the back of the dashboard. I've been trying to cure some terrible squeaks in the dash are around the air con vents - I think it's to the left of the 3 dial binnacle but I can't quite figure out how to get these out, anyone have any ideas?
Also, I can see that there are loads of different dashboards fitted over the years to these cars, I have an all black, hard vinyl dash with central a/c vents and rotary switches for blower and air temp (it all works too) The dash air vents are very loose and therefore just blow air wherever they like! Does anyone know what car these came from originally, they can't have been made for the Mini and musty have come from some other Rover product.
Are there any good sites specifically for these cars?
Thanks
J

I got these from Somerfordmini for my Wooden dashboard. I think that they are the same for the black plastic dashboard.
