Depends on the rim width really, some of the 5.5 x 13 wheels just fit in without problems, anything wider will almost certainly need the front arches trimming to stop them rubbing against the tyre when steering, the rears aren't a problem.

i have 13.8 on mine and they dont rub but then again i have a flipfront on.
but now i think of it metal arches will need to be cut in height wise width wise is normally ok.
bu this is also very easy to do, just makesure you put arches on or it will look a mess where you have cut, plus wheels will stick out loads, and last time i checked police werent to happy with me lol.

body mods WILL be required on all minis to be able to fit 13 inch wheels, unless you have a sportspack, this will have been done at the factory, metal will need to be cut from the front panel/wing area to prevent the tyre fouling, minispares do a handy template for you to use when carrying out this modification, also the mini was never designed to take such big heavy wheels,so with this in mind ensure your suspension and associated components are up to the job, consider fitting uprated/adjustable dampers and hi-los,although not neccessary this will help to to maximise your options.

Amazed with 8 x 13 that they don't touch,
These are 7x13s on camocabrio here and i had to cut about 3/4 of an inch round the front arches to clear them properly, then tidied the edge up by remaking the lip all the way round too to add strength and get rid of the sharp edge that was left above the tyres

I'll get a template from malvern then. Is it just the front wing or will it rub the inner arch too? I am going to get e set of hi lo's on it, will i need standard height shockers with the 13" rims or shorter ones? I intend on lowering it a bit but i don't suppose you can go to low with 13" rims on? regards Steve
What tool do you need to reform the lip?

i have 13 by 7 minilites on mine, with lowered 32 point adjustable gaz shocks and hi-los,the lower you go,the more metal you will need to cut away.

Ours is slightly lower than standard, Monroe gas shocks all round with adjustable camber etc at the rear too, i cut the arch round using the cheap 99p Ebay paper templates, then remade the lip using a pair of mole grips to start it by bending about a centimetre out little bu little then finishing the shape all the way round with a body hammer and square edge dolly, just after a mate popped in to my shed and asked when i was going to cut the arches out!

found a pic without the arches on!

Neat job!

Cheers hope the info helps

Quick edit here, just in case you think the camocabrio sits high at the front, it doesn't at all, that pic was taken as we accelerated away.

here you go 90mph, top gear test track, sits level and fairly low looking.
