Austin Design Office 15

ADO 15 is the BMC code for Mk 1 & Mk 2 Mini's. Later cars (Mk 3 onwards) like the on eBay are ADO 20.

got me there... but Monte Carlo is different!!

so... would you pay more for a new mini driven by Frank Stephenson?? didn't think so :withstupid:

would you pay more for a new mini driven by this bloke? he is something to do with the MINI designing apparantly

No he wasn't, he's just Basil Wales of the MCR ex-Works Register and had nothing to do with the design of the BINI.

somebody told me he was, i wasnt certain, thats why i put apparantly! thankyou for putting me right!

Basil Wales was the manager of BMC's Special Tuning Department at Abingdon between 1964 and 1973, the most active and successful period for BMC and later BL in various forms of motorsport. He transformed the department into a commercial success which inspired a new breed of special tuning companies and later formed the MCR Ex-Works Mini Register for owners of surviving Ex-Works Minis.
