if the person owns the car, then they can do what ever they want to it, but thats just my opinion.

when i get the `77 mini 1000 iv seen i aint leaving it standard, NO WAY!!

'77 and it has been maintained as 'standard' since then? Thats impressive...

...oh did you say the first thing your going to do is change that?

...one less standard car... sharpens own point... :D

Your comment is almost selfish!!!

Ahh I love this devils advocate lark...

Hang on your saying he is selfish

You started this topic by saying that YOU think that we are spoiling the Mini and that YOU would prefer for us not to be modifying OUR cars

So that's ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ not selfish ?

He is just doing what he wants to do to HIS car that HE owns that YOU will not have anything to do with or ever see

so go count your grey hairs and let us keep the mini alive

Sam

LOL! you stick it to him sam!

Don't think theres that many "youngens" with the cash to put an R1 engine in a Mini and then insure it?

Mines totally standard but whats wrong with subtle modifications? Its a car that was half designed to be individual, thats all people are doing.

Why do people do it? Why did I buy a Mini in the first place? Because its about making it individual to you. Most of my friends hated Minis before they "saw the light" after a ride in mine, so I certainly didnt do it to impress them.

I think modified Minis are awesome, but it has to be tasteful. Big speakers, massive exhausts and stupid body kits I hate.

Thing is, people buy brand new cars and modify them.. whats the difference between it being a bit older? infact it makes more sence to update with newer/safer items that may have been invented since the minis creation..
I bet alot of people modified their brand new minis once they bought them all them years back.. it makes it theirs..

Was watching that thing on telly last night with the hamster, at the end he couldn't find his scooter as it looked the same as all the rest(sure it was that program).. so if everyone kept their cars standard then how would we know whos was whos?

There is no way Im reading all 31 pages so Im just going to add my little bit

Its not just young'uns who mod their cars, there are lots of ''oldies'' :P that do too. And SO WHAT?! Do what the hell you want with your own mini! Its your life, and your car

Personally I prefer the classic look, but I do think its rather yum to get a nicely done up mini! I dont like body kits at all though.

Ive got a plan to do up my mini in the very near future, I will be spending a lot on it, and changing a lot of it but I will be keeping it looking classic too!

I think its really refreshing when you go to a mini show and see ones that have been restored but kept original :D . Although saying that its also fascinating to see unique minis and the work people have put into them!!

I think it's up to the people who own there car i love original mini's and i love modded mini's as long as there not chavvy.

I mean i wouldn't say Ollies isn't totally original but it's a lovely mini :D and he's built it all him self so it's his pride and joy it's up to the owner if they want to spend the time and money to make it look different. Ollie always said about turbo'ing his mini and i don't think it would ruin it at all :P
