But a well set-up and adjusted drum brake system works fine and most Minis had drums fitted all round for the first 25 years of production.

Their adequate enough for engine sizes up to 1098cc, but any bigger i.e 1275cc and discs are needed up front.

Mind you the South African built Mini 1275 E (which was a Clubman fronted 1275cc engined basic Mini), ran on drums all round!

Wasnt that the one with the stripes that went all the way other it? it was Odd...

No I believe the Mini 1275 E had 'City E' type stripes down the side.

I think that was the South African built Mini 1275GT?

Look up 'International Flavours' and 'South African Mini' in the Mini section (under 'The Cars') here: -

I chopped the front off and replaced it with a fibreglass flipfront (no more contorsionist acts to get to things, u ought to try it, makes a world of difference)

He probably already has, when he was a young 'un :D

well my biggest pet hate is when people start making judgements and start catagorising all the " young'uns" into one. I had an old man comment on my mk1 and claimed that in a few months it would be ruined due to young'uns adding stupid modifications to there cars. so i say why is it the old'uns of today think that when they see somthing they assume there all the same.

finely i would like to add that my mk1 has no modifications and that i would never intend to add any. other than a 998 engine from a previuos owner

sorry if i sound annoyed but after the old man the other day then this i fort i would say my peace

Wait, this is a stupid thread...

Which are better, Pot Noodles or Super Noodles? Thats a more interesting conversation. Personally i go for Pot Noodles but only because theyre easier to make.
