I saw the cortina in the pics you sent me!!

It did look quite nice.

So are you still gonna fit him with a neon kit, 13" superlites, sportspack arches, spangly bumpers????

Edit...it is an Austin healey!!

by the way the Cortina is Aubergine!!!

No neons I'm afraid Sean :teehee: ..

Plans for it are... Mk2 rear lights, Black/Silver plates, new carpets & seats the same as I did Evelyn's, new Stereo/speakers.

All the above are reversible as I will be keeping the originals and not doing any sabotage so if I come to sell I can put it back to original :teehee:

May possibly spray the vinyl roof black, and get some white stick-on spots and a line to make it into a big DOMINO :) >_< (hence the name Dominic) I know a place where I can probably get him to do some off-cuts for me. Only trouble is with this is I obviously can't really reverse the colour of the roof, but I don't think it's a big deal and will look better black anyway. Haven't decided on this yet though.

Spoke to the seller earlier, as there were two problems: exhaust knocking on the gear stick housing thingy, and rear brake locking.. he's had a mechanic take apart the brakes and it was infact the front pads which were sticking? Therefore the rear brake was over-compensating for it and therefore locked up. He said it's fine now. Exhaust knocking couldnt be sorted as the mechanic didn't have a ramp thingy small enough to fit Dominic on :( but to compensate for this not being sorted he has put two new tyres on the back... so I can't complain :)

Hopefully he will drive home ok tomorrow night :) and I may even have a ride around at the weekend, if I think he's reliable enough (haven't got the breakdown cover details through from the insurer yet).

Fun fun fun :)

Soon to start a project page :teehee: :teehee:

P.S. Getting a halfords trade card this week, which will save me a bit on tools etc.. :teehee: :( its amazing what a decent printer and Word can do!

that vynal looks like its been fitted via a specialist and not by the factory as there does not seem to be a seam on either side as The 1100 specials had ............... :teehee: ...........But I could be wrong.............. >_<

By seam do you mean a plastic "cover" that runs along the gutter? Because there is a black plastic clip-over thing right around the gutter, I dont know what its called but its like a long plastic strip :(

YES!!

Thats whats been bugging me about the roof!!

I knew it looked different, but just couldn't put my finger on it!!

What MK1 leg means is that there are usually 2 seam strips actually in the vinyil roof, these are about 8" in and run from front to back.

What, like ridges?

Mk3 Cooper S - I refer you to the post just before yours, do a bit of digging and you will find out! >_<

The aftermarket vinyl roofs did not have the seams running down either side as the Special. The Clubman I bought had a vinyl roof which looked to have been stuck on rather poorly. Yours looks like its had a proper fitting.

Looks like a very nice example.
With regards to the roof vinyl ,mine has the aforementioned strips either side of the roof and a plastic cover round the gutter, pain in the rear though as I cannot get it to stay down all the way round.
Reading about the exhaust knocking have a look at the pot joints before you go removing the exhaust,I have just come in from the garage having replaced the pot joints and it has stopped what I thought was the exhaust knocking on the underside of the car, turns out the joints were almost dry and sloppy causing the noises.
