hi people, i am soon going to be wanting to change my speedo arrangement to a centre one, at the minute i have the standard 3 clocks (speedo,fuel/temp,rev) how easy is it to change them? do i need anything special (new loom)?
and my engine is a 1275 with stage 1 kit and will soon have twin hs4's aswell, will a normal 90mph speedo do?
cheers, brad >_<
(p.s i have tried search but couldnt find anything, sorry)

I'm doing the very same thing at the minute, actually cleaning up my Center gauges at the moment >_<

PM 'Jupitus', he sells the wiring loom needed for the conversion for a very reasonable £25 + P&P.

You'll also need one of these.

& I'm sure some more bits.. but I'm unsure of anything else.

You need:
1. Either a conversion-loom (expensive) or a wiring diagrame and some conecctors (please don't use luster terminals >_< ).

2. A new speedo cable (GSD101MS)

3. New cards resp. panels around the speedo
(I made them myself with some plastic & leatherette to cover)

4. A chrome ashtray to fill the gap (you'll see which ) and either rubber or chrome grommets to fill the holes left by the top dash rail

For the speedo... I have a low comp (53HP) 1275cc engine with stage1 kit and it does 97 flat out (GPS! Not speedo).
But it looks cool with the speedo needle saying hello to the fuel gauge >_<

Asphalt, does the top dash rail have to come off in order for the Binnacle to fit? & what about the oil gauge.. at the moment there is a 15cm long piece of thick wire protruding from the gauge, but I've got no idea what to do with it..

You shouldnt have to remove the top dash rail to fit a centre speedo

Pretty sure if you leave the top dash rail in some of the speedo will be covered.

I have done this conversion with the loom of jupitus. Comes with all the stuff you need to get your center speedo conneted up :P

Thanks for the referral, theImage :P

Brad - those details are correct, and just FYI I do have the materials needed in stock at the moment. If you decide to do it yourself, then obviously post in the tech area and we can help instead :P

Maybe... But it looks totaly s]-[!+ with...!? I mean that big black thing:

For the oil gauge: there's a capillary line to it. Oh, yeah - thats n° 5 of things required.
Minispares stock a T-adaptor which goes between the original pressure switch and block:

You may fit the hose directly as a replacement of the pressure switch, but with the daptor you have both a warning light & pressure gauge.
And a warning light is more likely to be noticed :P

Cheers,
Jan
