I would never be able to compete with him on noise.
It's a rough area i live in and a little bit of noise from a grinder is the least of my neighbours problems!

I'm mainly working evenings at the moment, but my dad has to reverse my mini to get his car out every morning, its got a straight through RC40 as well, wakes me up without fail, damn mini owners
Why dont you re arrange your cars?
His pride enjoy lives in the garage, so mine goes in the driveway blocking it in.

that's more like it!!my neighbours are great they are always saying there will be nothink left if you keep cleaning it. in the summer we have barbeques in the street and then end up siting round in someones front garden talking and drinking and then for the past three years the street has hired a hall out and had a christmas party.

When I put it in the garage to work on it, I nipped out to get something from the Co-Op, and at the bottom of my road (I live in the middle) some guy who lives at the bottom stopped me and said 'Don't tell me you've gotten rid of the Mini!?' and he seemed relieved when I told him it was in the garage!
My Mini's fairly loud, and I've gotten home at 1-2am before, and still haven't had any complaints! Even my mates Fiesta with some big peco exhaust system on it makes loads of noise, and they haven't said anything! Not to me, anyway...

Their daughter who visits them however has a habit of beeping the horn when she leaves no matter what time of day or night

i have come home at 3 or 4 in the mornings and none of them have said a word about it! even though its being a pain in the bottom and the throttle sticks slightly open at times, and its a bit louder exhaust than standard, a lot deeper noise, which does tend to travel further!

My neighnour has it pretty bad because im on one side with my mini and the guy on the other side of him has a few old morris minors and some scrambler bikes that were both always tinkering with.
Although the only complaint i've had from him was that my supressors broke becuase my car interfers with his TV - I don't know what sort of prehistoric TV hes got.
It's not his fault, we had the same problem for ages because we're in a rubbish signal area and there are loads of cars that would interfere with the TV as they went past, and you have no idea how frustrating it was. Eventually we had to rob a bank and get Sky. It's something to do with your wiring that's causing it.

as above our garage is in the middle of no where, well on a farm so we can make as much noise as we like!!! its brilliant
and the neighbours at home there is a mechanic opposite us and has tipped us off a our lastest 79 mini for £50, and a 1275 metro, taxed and tested, with 47k on the clock for £20, so he's a good neighbour, then at the back of our house is a service lane, which another road backs onto, and the people opposite out the back have a mk1 they are restoring and give me a shell for free last year, after he had taken all the bits he wanted off!!! so brilliant neighbours and no complaints about nosiy exhuasts!!! its all good!!!
