Haha cheers Chris.. Retro, next time you're gonna be about drop me a message and I'll give you directions :P No sneaky plans, keeping it standard as it looks unlikely I will be able to afford/justify keeping it when it's done :)

A little progress report, stripped out the interior and brought it to Retro Retrims, I had lots of fun with the dash wiring.. >_< I think auto electronics weren't quite so advanced in the early '70's.. took me 2 evenings to sort out and label up this lot!

Last night I got started on the bodywork, started on the worst panel, the bonnet.

The lip had gone a little crumbly

Superior work there mister. My former neighbour, an old-time restorer, took 12 years to do this one so you'll be a b it quicker than him! In the end he tried to sell it and couldn't find a buyer at £1500 >_< But they're worth so much more in time, trouble, skill & history.

NB He did the Morry too

Seen them advertised for loads more than £1.5k, don't fret.

by the way I bought a B (soft top) in 1965, new, wire wheels, heater, tonneau, Motorola radio, nice little copper-faced mallet for the butterfly hub nuts, all the extras, £1112 on hire purchase. I was earning £480 a year ...

Right ho, I now have the bonnet, and both doors ready for primer! Both doors were pretty good, one needed a wee plate

I started working on the tailgate, but it had been worked on before by some half wit, and it had filler all over it about an inch thick, covering lots of rust and dodgy plates. So I went on ebay and found one for £40. Sorted!

This looks great. Reminds me of when my dad owned one. He was gutted the day it got written off by a Volvo. He has an MGF now. Bit too girly in my opinion but its the trophy model so is quite a sporty ride.

Haha No I'm still about! I did used to live on here right enough.. Just seem to have no time recently!

Quick update, I've restored the dash and repainted it in the original crackle finish paint, looks cool :( pics soon! I have been working on it every evening this week, and plan to do so all day tomorrow, and bank holiday monday, "should" get the body finished, and all ready for primer.. We'll see how it goes, I keep finding holes in places where there shouldn't be holes ;)
