Cheers folks.. Not done anything to it yet, it needs 2 new batteries first, they have 2 6v's instead of 1 12v.. £74 each! :) Someone's gonna be doing some overtime!

Pete, you can convert to a single 12v if you like, the later GTs had single batteries.

Also, have you seen these people yet?

http://www.mgbhive.co.uk/

Or

http://www.welshmg.co.uk/

Their website is crap, however they are good on price and delivery

Edit!!

Oh and welcome to the world of the money-pit!!

Well the games have begun! Replaced all the ignition components, plugs leads etc, and got it running roughly, but only one carb was working so time for a rebuild!

Refitted the carbs, and after a bit of tinkering with the mixture, got it running beautifully! The carbs will need balancing at some stage, but it's good enough to drive to a rolling road!

Also converted it to a single 12v battery. I would have liked to keep it original, but 2 new 6v batterys would have cost about £150, so in the end I got a new 12v battery, and all the neccesary bits and pieces to do the conversion for £45! BARGAIN!

At some stage the clutch master cylinder has broken a seal and leaked all over the bulkhead..
Posted Image
so I've got a new cylinder to fit, brake master looks good, so I'll just be checking the seals are ok and refitting it after cleaning up the bulkhead and repainting the cylinder housing brackety thingymajig.

Woohoo for bank holidays!!

Oh, and it's been named Regina :S

Ha cheers folks! Got a little done today, although not as much as I'd have liked ;D

Refurbed the pedal box, and fitted the new clutch master cylinder, Also cleaned up the area where the pedal box sits and repainted it, seeing as I won't be able to get to it after. I was planning to get it so I could drive it today, but sods law dictated that the slave cylinder was screwed.. I never thought to check it when I was deciding what to replace :) Ah well, new one has been ordered, should be with me next week!

Anyway here's pics of todays progress..
