can only speak from actual experience - however although there can be issues with the weld breaking - in the end it does seem to come out... am sure the heat that the welding generates plays a part in it.

In this case you are not talking about welding to a broken bolt, the nut wold would be welded to a broken EasyOut that is in a broken bolt.

If you were talking about welding a nut to what's left of the original broken bolt I agree that the method has been shown to work.
