So if i get a constant live from the fuse box, would i still need to put an inline fuse in it?

when I fitted my stereo into my old SPi, we just ran the wires into the loom that's inside the car, i.e. what comes out of the ignition barrel... took the live feed from a live feed 
and then put the switched feed into ignition position one.
Job done!
