Resistor leads should not be fitted with resistor plugs. Resistor plugs should not be fitted with resistor leads.
Electronic ignition sysemt normaly use resitor plugs and non resistor leads.
I would always suggest the resitor plug on any elerctronic ignition system.
two things that cause problems are a high HT circut resistance ( resistor lead and Resistor plug together) or a low HT circuit resistance ( neither resistor lead or plug fitted).

It all depends what ignition leads are fitted.

Thanks Sprocket and last year I fitted a set of red 'Lumenition' HT Leads, part no. HV22 which I got mail ordered from Mini Spares.
Their site seems to be having some difficulties at the moment, so I can't provide a link to them. But typing HV22 into the search field nearly always brings them up.
I'm sure their suitable though and non resister leads as their suitable for all Minis of 1959-1996 vintage?

There's a PDF on the NGK site that says recommended is BPR6E, with a secondary one of BPR6ES - so looks right?? - I have a 1996 spi which I got BPR6ES to fit next sat. by the way, what size spark plug socket do you use for these?
14mm?
14mm reffers to the thread and not the hex nut.
Here is something for you to think about

back when the A series was conceived in the lat 40's early 50's when the common thread forms were UNC and UNF as a result of world war II. Now consider this, if the Americans and the British were all using the Unified thread forms, where did the Metric spark plug come from?

Anyway the link seems to be working now, so are these leads okay to use with BPR6ES plugs?: -
Lumenition HV22 link.
I've not noticed any problems anyway?

According to the NGK guide provided by nick suth, the hex is 20.8mm?
Hi,
Yes 21mm (near as) or more likely to be in your toolbox a 13/16 spark plug socket

Cheers,
Gavin

I'm running same leads as that, brought them about 12 month or so ago, had been running them with BP6 plugs, worked fine but was getting radio interference, so last week I stuck a set of BPR6 plugs in and have noticed no problems, has got rid of my radio noise though
