Hi thinking of buying these wheels of a mate http://www.minispare...mp;prod_id=2004

Was wondering will i need new arches to fit them under, or will my stainless ones be ok. I have seen these fit under standered stainless arches.

I no i will have to do body mods so they dont rub, but how much of the arch will i need to take off.

Please help :D

don't quote me on this, but the standard arches were only designed for 12x4.5 wheels, although 12x5 fit under fine, i tink 12x6 will be sticking out a bit though.

Before you waste money on wheels, make sure your suspension components are 100% ok otherwise you will be cutting away good bodywork to accommodate sagging suspension!!

Ar thanks for saying that, i am getting new spaxs dampers,
and handling kit first before i put the wheels on, because i want a better ride,
and i know on my old mini ,
that the garage fitted new dampers, and adjustable tie rods. when putting new wheels on. :proud:

The wheels look nice, but i like the ones my mates got, i might by the arches if they fit the 12x6 under them. :proud:

I would like the arches to be good condition i don't want to get them and they fall apart.

Yeah you will need to do body mods, ive seen those wheels under standard plastic arches, they just peaked out but it makes it look realy good.

It depends how much you cut on the ride hight of your car. I had to cut out quite alot out of the wing and front panel. You'll just have to see when there on.

Ok, yer i thought i had, but like you said they sick out a bit, my mate had them like that, but i want to be legal.

I am not going to adjust the ride hight at all, not yet anyway. my old mini had 13x7 and they just cut quite a bit out up to the body seam.

Yer i will have to see, hopefully get my claim money soon for the my old one, so will be able to get these wheels, got to get other things done first.

The arches aint about to fall apart, only selling because i fitted sportpack. Ive probably been too picky with them, they will fit perfectly, just saying, where they were fixed to my car, beacuse the fixings were drilled close to the edge, some have just turned into a 'u' shape.

Ive only fitted them yesterday :proud:. But to be honest I got 5x12's under standard arches on my daily and they stick out (can see the tread on the tyre edge) and ive never got pulled.

Few more pics on my thread (link in sig).

Paul.

Thats what ive got, accept i've got some copy W&P's. Mine stick out a teeny tiny bit iv'e passed an MOT with them, and Mr MOT man said it's fine to stick out a little bit as long as they don't rub and its not silly.
