brakes are free although at a cost :) as when i was taking of the very nice early mini fin drums i cracked the first one only to find that the shoes were pretty much welded to the drum so ended up having to cut them of good news is that the box and engine are not seized although it is stuck in gear, i have also cut the front panel and wings off and it was not as bad under the arch as i though it would be :o

Update! Finally..
Front end is off, and for some reason makes the rest not look so bad.

And new door was fitted as Paul felt bad for cutting the front end off!

Wow that's a hell of an undertaking, I've got to get myself a Countryman some day to go with my Clubby estate. It's a real shame about the roof I hope the rust hasn't eaten into the window and door frames to much.

Have you thought about getting a fiber glass skin made and bonding it over the existing roof skin? Admittedly it's not and ideal solution but at least you wouldn't have to fit a latter roof.

i keep looking at these pictures again and again and im trying to imagine what she'll look like when she is done, im still not sure on how i will do her, if it will be a original resto or if i will update slightly with disc brakes and a larger motor to make it more usable.

im sad to say i have had to announce defeat on this project. so i am getting rid of her, i wouldn't do this but i have lost my big workshop and now only have a one car garage, i had decide between this and my 1971 sleeper project and as the sleeper is close to done and had far to much money spent on it which i would never get back it was a easy choice which one had to go but i am still gutted that i have to do this :D

i know a guy at surrey hills mini club that wants to take on the project and if he does i am hoping that i will still get to help with the restoration so i am not breaking for spares.

please don't ask me to break or for any bits of her i am trying my hardest to find some one who will restore her like i wanted to, i have become very emotionally attached to this car and it is heart breaking to have to get rid of her as she has a lovely history and deserves a chance to be driven again.
