Well tomorrow (sat) i'll nip down to the shop and pick up a new float valve and new jet. Cannot get floats here very easy so that will have to wait.
Hopefully that will sort it.

The float looks OK to be honest. Test to see if it actually floats, if it's punctured it won't work.
