i looked at the k-series when i first got into minis, the subframe is quite abit wider and you need to be very competant at your welding and engineering abilities.

ive only seen a couple done. prob why people tend to go for the vauxhall or honda engine.

it will be my mate doing the welding, and he gets a lot of practice fixing all the holes and rust on my mini, his triumphs and xr2i lol both him and my brother done mechanics so will get a lot of help. i've found a few designs on the forum of frames for the engine that are roughly the same size as a standard one so will most likely try to create something similar

only thing is where would i get the custom drive shafts from? or is it possible to make them myself?

went to bingley sunday and bought a few bits i fancied. got a rear beam axle with gaz coil overs from huddersfield spares to replace the rusty/holey rear subby. should save some weight and look good >_<

also bought a digi dash pod
http://www.digitalsp....co.uk/rx2n.htm
comes with sensors for oil, speed etc which is useful, now just to try and work out the wiring  (but will be a while before i get to that point lol)
also bought a spare steering column, cowling (with sidwards facing barrel), barrel and stalk for the clubby, only £20 which i didn't think was too bad

sorry mate, need the ignition barrel as long as its ok as mines worn and can remove the key with teh engine running >_< saw a cowling go on ebay for over £50! so though it was a bargain just for that. what parts you after?

cheers for the encouraging comment, everytime i look at it i realise how much more work is left to do lol went to remove the old rear subby earlier and 2 bolts are seized >_< thinking of cutting the heads off with a grinder, extract the studs and just replace them with shiney new ones.

bought this for the project yesterday.

its only a 1.4 but should give a bit more power than the old 998 that kwik *melon* killed :)
this is the only pic that came out properly so will get some more of the engine and other parts tomorrow. now just need to get off my rectum and start sorting out parts for fitting it, but first need to finish off sorting out the rust lol

(could this be moved to the engine subforum please)

dont have a spare one yet, will do in the future when i build a road/race n/a 998 for the clubby
i probably have half a car in spare parts sitting in the garage lol (engine, body and interior)
i cant weld ;) so a welder is one thing i dont have in the piles lol allspeed said they can make me a bare frame that just needs engine mounts (which i have in the pile) and painting for £400+vat which may be cheaper than buying another subby, box section then paying someone to build it. not very happy with the one that came with the engine so want to start a fresh

that subby maybe good for mock up build / test fit

the 1.4 k series puts out 105 bhp so should be plentyful fun ness!

keep us posted on your plans, when u think you will be shifting the 1275? may time?????

also i think you should donate your wellers to project barry!

engine depends on money and how fast 'lesbian rose' moves along, takes abit longer doing everything yourself (except welding) when you dont have much of idea of what to do lol

if donate the whels what am i going to roll on? brake discs dont have much of a rolling diameter lol although if i could afford it them i rally want a set of satin black 7x13" supertrax wheels
