Hi
Boris has had his battery replaced with a Shiny New One today :P But hes still stuck at the Garage Because nobody can turn off the immobiliser now :xxx:

Boris is a 1995 Single Point Injection Automatic:

They now say we will have to pay extra to get another guy out to reprogramme the ECU :D
I dont think this is needed i remember reading on here somewhere that theres a proceedure to get the fobs talking to the ECU after changing the battery(car Battery not fob battery) but cannot find it in search?

Can Anybody help?

Hi,

I imagine the imobiliser and fob have lost sync, due to having the battery off the car for a while. Tto re-synchronise the fob/handset to the car, try pressing the unlock button at least four times. You use this method when replacing the fob battery (as below)

As Ryan has said above, it is almost certainly just going to be the key fob needing to re-synchronise with the car.

Do as follows and it will work:

1) Remove battery from Key Fob - This will re-set the fob.

2) After 30 secs or so, put the battery back in and the fob back together

3) Press the unlock button (I'm pretty sure it's that one, if not try the other) four times in succession.

4) The LED in your car will light up for a few moments and then it will be synchronised.

If it doesn't work the first time, try again pressing the button four at a slower or faster speed. It is actually a reasonably slow speed that you press it four times.

I have this everytime I disconnect the car battery. Just hit unlock on the key fob 4 times and it should do the trick...

I too am having problems... only difference being is the car physically started and then died... the immobiliser light no longer blinks, and i'm too scared to arm the alarm to test if it is the immobiser or not.

I've disconnected the relay and ECU and have reconnected and still no joy... the bit that confuses me is she actually started!!

Fob guide is usefull tho..... need to replace the batteries in the fobs >_<

EDIT: The alarm won't arm....

Hi all, i have a friend who has a 95 1.3spi with immobiliser problems, we've tried allsorts but had no luck  . what seems to be the problem is that the keyfob isn't connecting to the immobiliser, and like i said we've tried everything we can think of, any suggestions please.

I think it could either the receiver unit for the immobiliser or the ecu, but I couldn't find the receiver. Anyone know where this could be? Also if it comes to it does anyone know where and how much a replacement ecu/receiver unit?
