indeed, it's just a shame people get so upset about what is a great new car, when there's so much trouble oin the world to get truely peeved about, no it isn't the same as the proper one but it does share the charactoristics and looks!!!!

yes, your answer is.......... yes!

the cooper S, not the other models
the S
0-60 in 7.1
tops out @ 140mph
sounds ace
does 40mpg
can be tuned easy & reliabily to +270BHP
looks different to the other hatches out
isn't as expensive as the other hatches!!

I don’t particularly hate the new one, it's more the BMW side of this I don’t like,

go on please explain that one???

I could be wrong but it might be to do with the over aggresive way in which BMW "protected" the brand which it had bought.
Some companies who had been using the name were forced to change company name or risk being sued which I think is
a bit harsh. I dont think Huddersfield Mini Spares were ever trying to dupe people into thinking they had a link to BMW or
the products they were selling were official BMW items but they were still threatened with legal action and had to change their business name.

so the fact that these companies wont let them use the name, really, shouldn't make you get all stress headed!!!!!!

Pretty much, and it’s not just Bmw wouldn’t let them or anyone else use the mini name, but if you didn’t pay up or start seling bmw parts as well you faced being shut down completely. Efectivlyey Bmw tying to stop the spares and aftermarket parts network and killing the classic mini, if you can no longer get parts to fix you car, you carn’t keep it on the road.

And it’s not just the larger mini specialists that are targeted, it was only a year or two a go when some one was forced by Bmw to stop making and selling mini shaped bags/soft toys because they might harm sales and confuse people as whether it was a classic or new one.

Mylittlecar

and another one I found while searching for the above about classic mini clubs using the mini name.

Getting off topic again but....

I doubt any of us are privy to what terms BMW would impose on traders who might infringe their trade names & marks. I would think they see it as brand protection: to stop their product being covered in cheap tat or fitted with poor quality spares that make MINIS unreliable and damage their reputation.

Even so, if companies catering for the Mini have to pay them royalties then it's an extra cost we will eventually pick up as customers.

But what's really annoying is they also target anyway catering for the classic Mini too, even though BMW provides no back up service or spare parts for real Minis.

There were more but that is the most recent one that I can remember.
None of which detracts from a well built fun car , so dont start using too much punctuation and getting all upset.
Cheers
Chris

nah i'm not getting upset it seems you lot are the upset one's over something that really to be honest doesn't consern you??? it's not like you own huddersfield mini spares..... or do you???

so the fact that these companies wont let them use the name, really, shouldn't make you get all stress headed!!!!!!

and as i dont get charged by the charactor i shall continue to use as much 'puntuation' as i feel i want to, mwah!!!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

* really imature i know but what the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least it's only adverts for the BINI that are in the magazines now. A few years ago they used to have articles on BINIs in Mini World. Fortunately they have now realised that most Mini owners are not interested in BINIs, and most BINI owners are not interested in Minis and so have introuduced a separate magazine instead.

i think they had some sort of vote for that one and that is why they stopped it!!!

everyone has there opinions but i think that adverts mean nothing other than to sell products so what difference does it make and there will always be something to moan about because so many people like the old mini's and some (weird)people like the bini's its still a mini even if we dont like it so we will just have to put up

thankz mini1.3

what badge has the ''BINI'' GOT ON IT???????
me's thinks you'll find the mini logo is now its own brand under the wing of bmw much like much like vaxhaul and opel under GM
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo get over it!!!!
they started putting in a thin extra bit for the new MINI

Hmm, I'm getting stress headed , yet you arent getting upset ?
The point I was trying to make was in reply to a question you asked , Why someone did not like BMW.
If you read my post can you point out the part where i am stress headed, is it the comment "a bit harsh"
Also in written (or typed) English , the overuse of punctuation is for displaying an extreme, eg ???? would indicate you find something extremely incredulous.
This would also indicate that the writer was quite upset. If the writer does not want to indicate that he/she is upset it would be advisable
to use punctuation in the correct manner.
Just to confirm, I am so unstress headed i am typing this lying down, whilst smoking a cigar receiving a massage.
In fact Im not even typing I am dictating to my offspring who is typing.
Good day

if you look, it wasn't pointed directly at just you, it was pointed at everyone complaining and getting wound up by the new mini/bini/MINI/small bmw whatever you all want to call it
yet when it comes down to it alot of people havent actually owned one or tried living with one, so the comment about its qualities are daft,

using your kids for slave labour is not big!
also smoking round them is not a good idea so maybe you should invest more time looking at the health of your kids not mini companies thats financial status doesnt consern you!!!
also why would you have a massage if you weren't tense??? sports injury??? and if so you shouldn't be smoking inside at a workplace its also inconsiderate to the person doing your massage.

is that a sarcastic enough reply to your silly attempt at sarcasm????????????????

goodday to you too (may be your last, smoking kills!!)
