Finished welding in my new parcel shelf, sealed and primed, just need to pop the rear screen back in.

Also finished up transferring the old inner skin off the rotten mk1 boot to the original Mayfair boot. which I’ve already transferred the number plate surround into, all that’s left now is some more filling.

Rear shelf all painted up and rear screen popped back into place, one more job of the list.

Missed out on going to the brooklands show, woke up late and felt rough. So instead i played around with the hinges on the flip front, pretty much got is so it flips and drops back down were all the fixings line up.

i'll get some picks up once the fiberglass on the inside of the flip front is done to neatern it all up.

Looking good sir!

Not sure how I feel about the filled door posts! Feels like alot of filler to me, but then again, it's not hiding anything so it's not bad. I just have nightmares about filler is all.

It looks a lot of filler, but isn't. nothing on this mini will ever be easy when it comes to rust repairs, but that should be years off.

Done a bit more, pulled off the front end and subframe so i can work on finishing up the front inner arches which are now done and sealed, just need stonechip and painting body colour.

While the stubby is off i've got plans to strip it back down and repaint everything before it's refitted for the final time.

but next of the cutting ane welding list is the bulkhead, want to lose quite a few untidy (to me) looking areas to smooth it all out.

And i should also be getting my engine block back verry soon, so i can also make a start on building the engine.

The front end and subframe is still in bits slowly being repainted while i work on the bulkhead and inner arches, but i did get this back sometime last week...

One standard bore 998 block with pockets cut for the 12g940 head, all i've got to do now is build it back up with all the other goodies i've collected.

I finaly got my mk1 hinge back, even if it has meant i've had to re-repair it myself, just atleast now i no longer have a huge bolt holding the door on anymore.

I'm about halfway through welding the bulkhead.

And i also found time to relocate the washer bottle and weld some bolts to the bracket i'd found. Even if this new location does mean i'll have to extend the wires quite a bit.

Looking really good sir!

How come you didn't put the washer bottle in the that place but on the driver side? Would have saved lengthening the wires.

As i plan on keeping the air vent thing on the drivers side, but putting something over it to stop any stones etc going straight into the heater.

I’ve painted up the lower half of the bulkhead and touched up the front stubby and bolted it back on. I was just about to fit the brake pipes that run along the front of the stubby, but it appears that the threads in the brass 2 way union are mashed. So I now need to find a cheap usable second-hand one and some more fittings before I can continue on that.
