It depends on the colour, but I would have said for a full inside and out respray, get 3 litres of basecoat, and 5 of lacquer, that's the size tins it tends to come in, better to have too much than run out half way through! you'd likely use about 2.5/3 litres of lacquer.

We have just painted a mini in Tahiti Blue basecoat, why does the phrase as "thin as *yellow human water* come to mind" ?

It took 3 litres of basecoat to cover .............. eventually!!!

ALSO

Add two ball bearings in spray gun to keep the paint "mixed" if metallic /perlescent and build the basecoat up in many, many many light coats

They should have told you, you need a dark blue or grey groundcoat

We did use a dk blue undercoat and followed up with 2 litres of basecoat. The car looked even colour all over in our workshop (which we consider to be well lit with tube lights) so we hit the car with laquer, again the car looked perfect.

Took the car out in daylight and to say it looked patchy was an understatement. Another litre of basecoat and a relaquer the car is now all good. So my question is, what lights do you professionals use ?

hmmm.....

I would say a lot depends on colour

A friend of mine painted a mini inside and out in LG pink and the paint used was

3tlrs Silver Base
5ltrs Pink Base
5ltrs Clear Coat

In the past i have seen an inside and out done with 2.5 ltrs of a Gun Metal Grey and 3ltrs Clear Coat, we did a flame red just on the outside and used 1.5ltrs 2K flame red, .5ltrs white for the roof
