Oil Pump
Big ends and main shells replaced (if the crank isnt marked otherwise regrind is needed)
New simplex timing chain and tensioner or upgrade for a dulex item.
If there is no lip on top of the bore i would get the block glazed buster and fit new rings to your pistons.
New gaskets of course
Things which might be needed:
Rebore the block to next size and buy pistons to suit.
Crank reground with set of shells to match.
Regarding the gearbox there might not be any major problems with it, but i would be tempted to strip the diff out and replace the diff pin for a new one of an uprated item.
And on that note im off to bed up at 7 for work

Get the engine block professionally dipped and cleaned, this should be oil gallery plugs and core plugs out, there's not much point rebuilding an engine with all new parts with the block is still full of old grot and grime....

Deffinate changes which i would do:

Having a block rebored and new cam bearings - £120-140
Mains and big end bearings - £40
New cam followers and pushrods - £60
New oil pump - £20
New water pump - £25
All roller needle bearings (little ones in gearbox) - £25
If you need a new double roller in the gearbox - £55
Gaskets - £15
Shims - £15-30
Oil filter - £10
Air filter - £10-30
Possible carb rebuild kit - £30-70
Worthwhile upgrades:
Central oil pickup - £25
Hardened diff pin - £15
Budget for £500 if you're keeping your pistons and only getting the block honed, budget £700-800 if your getting an overbore. That's just to rebuild a standard engine.

just the engine rebuild? yeah easily do that within a year. if you have the time (and money) you can easily do it in a week. a full mini rebuild can be done in a year too, but obviously the more you have to do the harder it will be to get it done in time, and youll always find more than you bargained for!lol ok mate. i should be picking my engine up to night
but i fink im gunna see how much money i can get hold of because i might do a full rebuild to it because my old man said i can have his little bannger if i dont finish this project in a tear lol. do you think ill get this done in a year. well im going to try im up for the challenge lol
