Looking through the Workshop Manuals for the Mini MPi, Rover 100, 200 etc. and MGF there appear to be several common parts used, i.e. sensors (MAP, TP etc.). Does anyone have a list of any other "common" parts?

I was looking through for Fuel Injector as an example and they do "look" very similar (if not identcal), or am I being silly thinking there would be commonality among Rover/MG parts ???? ;)

The Mini MPi injectors are shared with the 2 litre turbo engines of the 820 and some 220. the later 220 has a smaller injector part MJY10029 from the same family, those are the ones I am using on the 16v engine, but I do have a set of the larger MJY100460's sat on the shelf freshly cleaned.

The MPi injectors part number is MJY100460 and flow 480cc each, they are 15.6 ohm, high impedance items.

MAP sesnor is also on the V6 Rover models. coolant, and air temp sensors are common across the K series engines as are the lambda sensors, though the flying lead may be longer

It does seem that when buying these parts for the Rover MPi the price is "jacked up" compared to the same items being sold for the other Rover models. Traders, Suppliers etc. are cashing in on the Rover Mini MPi enthusiast?

You'll probably appreciate from my other thread that I am having very little success resolving the misfire/hesitation problem and am working through just about every sensor and other possibile causes to resolve? Next steps are..........
- Replace LCB (possibly Cracked above Lambda Sensor)
- Remove CAT and Fit Link Pipe (just to prove/disprove but I think it's an unlikley cause)
- Alloy Throttle Body (sorry, but gone for the 52mm)
- Adjustable Fuel Regulator (Power-Boost Valve - probably sounds better than it actually is)
- Ordered a Fuel Pressure Gauge kit
- Ordered a Compression Test Kit
- New/Recon Injectors possibly???

Once I've found it I'm going to have a lot of useable part used sensors and enough kit to open a garage ) I just can't leave a problem unsolved!!! >:)

I decided what the hell, in for a penney?

What's your availability over the next week or so?

Have you considered the problem to be mechanical?

Cam timing - worn chain?

leaky valves?

perhaps

Had the Cylinder Head off to change head gasket and valves /seats looked okay. Timing Chain Cover also been off and chain sprockets looked/felt fine.

It' got that air/fuel feeling about it?

Once I've fitted the new LCB I should know - then can focus on fuel system if still there?

Yeh, I agree. I've booked 2 weeks off over Christmas (finish 19/12 and back 05/01) to get some jobs done, one of themn being the LCB change, that's got to be a suspect if it cracked above the lambda?

Will keep in touch

You should do the service reset with the ACR4 when you have access to it also. Force it to adjust the the new variables of the new parts.
