Might pass on that idea as our washing machine is on its last legs anyway! Would a soak in some Cilit bang or bleach do it? Could do the same to the washer bottle as well I guess?
I soak sunvisors pegs in thinned down bleach with great results

Here's my masterplan to complete the car people!
Decided that next month (July) after payday I'm gonna get all the parts together to get the engine running. I think I'll trailer it straight to a decent rolling road to get in run in and set up. According to the guy I bought the engine from, it's been freshly rebuilt, so I'll need to get it run in properly. I don't want it going pop on me! I'll also get the same garage to set up the tracking, ride height, castor, camber etc.
The following month (August) will be buying front brake calipers, and setting up the braking system. I'll also do a few other bits and pieces, but my wallet would have had a hammering last month.
The month after (September) is all required bits for MOT, and MOT time! I'll also get it insured and taxed, then I'll be able to drive it, albeit without a finished interior.
October will get all the parts done for the interior, and finishing touches. That's if I don't get too distracted driving it around!
Over the course of the winter I'll be getting the alloys polished, get the minor dinks and dents I've put on the car during the rebuild taken out, and am toying over the idea of getting a winter set of wheels (Special alloys powdercoated dark grey maybe?), due to the fact the McNally's are so rare. Might also add to the ICE system with a subtle 6-8" subwoofer and an amplifier hidden somewhere.
Still seems like a really long time, but this is the only way I'm gonna be able to afford it without melting my credit card!
Been also looking and dreaming about the Vmaxscart supercharger kit........ My dad also has a BMW K100 16V cylinder head sitting in his garage, so am really tempted to go down this route as well! Might look into either of these next year.......

I've been away from TMF for a little while, and yet I have nothing to update. In the time since my last post I have probably only fitted one fog lamp, and a few bits and pieces, so not much to update with.
To be honest work has been mega busy, and I've lost motivation on it really. I've actually been tempted to sell it all, but know I won't get much for it in an unfinished state, so I'm putting it off. It is tempting, as the mini will be a good deposit for a VW camper, and I'm really wanting one of them at the moment. Ideally I'd keep it AND get a camper, but I think that'll be unlikely. I KNOW I'll change my mind as soon as I drive the mini though!
Once I get a month without too many bills I'll get my backside to Minispares to get some parts, then lock myself in the garage to get some progress done!

Fantastic stuff!
Only problem is, my Mrs has been calling me for the last half-hour... I bet I'm well in the doghouse!

Thanks for the ongoing interest. The trouble is, my mini has sat in the garage in a nearly finished state for ages now, and I just haven't had the motivation to get up and do anything to it.
I think the motivation has been killed by adding up how much the remainder of the parts I need was going to cost, and having so many other things to spend money on at the moment.
However I did go out in the garage yesterday and cleaned some of the dust off it, and had a look around at it. I still want to use it for my wedding next year, so I'll have to crack on with it soon if it's gonna be finished!
A tent could be a cracking idea Pete, plus a retro roof rack for all the gear! I was actually gonna get in contact with you. I've had a change of heart over my grill, I want a Mk3 cooper grill now, but will need a lip welding onto the bonnet and potentially repainting, I wondered how much this would cost if I courier the bonnet to you.
I'll have a look over the project soon, and get an update to you all!
