Ok i got bored of welding in my boot floor today so thought, meh whats the worst that can happen, and chopped my maniflow up, and pulled all the wadding out, welded it back up, and it is noticeably louder and thats not even under load.

AWSOME!

Hopefully will still past the noise test at coombe >_<

Video now! I have an old RC40 somewhere might have to chop that up.

Ive just fitted a large bore RC40 to my blue mini, and it sounds gorgeous, its not mega loud but its pretty damn noticable, ive compared it to large bore play mini exhausts and theres not much difference in sound but the RC40 has a nice throaty rumble, its a sound thats music to anyones ears :proud:

Are you suggesting I cut it off?? I like it, it's shiny :errr:

Anyhoo, once the RC40's had its day, which admittedly won't be for a while unless I have an unexpected run-in with a sleeping policeman :( , I might chop it open and see what lurks inside, see if i can make it any louder :)

your a chav at heart arent you mister hat >_<

Thanks :dontgetit: I like to think I'm not, but I do love a noisy exhaust :) On a Mini, of course...

Asphalt - it's gonna be several years before it does another 10k miles!! But I think for now, I'll listen to Pauly and everybody else and leave it as it is. Sounds gorgeous (or it did when it ran... :( )

Do'h!!.. dont cut it open.. Find a large metal bin, stick your exhaust box in there.. pour diesel through the box and it simply burns away >_< hehe .. done it on a rubbish fiesta mk2 1.1 and de-cat, and it gave you a head ache after a mile or two.
Hope this helped?

Wow, thanks for that, reckon that'd work on an rc40 then? Would it affect my mixtures or just make it louder do you think?

yeah it would work on any exhaust. maybe not a twin box system but and single box system will work. it wont effect mixtures, but let it cool down before you touch it lol. and it will smoke for a couple of days because of left over diesel in the box heating up.. wont be long before it clear's, it will make it alot louder! as the wadding is basically soundproofing lol.

Are you mad? I have a single box rc40. i have trouble getting through town without everyone stareing at me.

Why do you want something louder its lunicy. Its not going to provide you with any more performance, its just going to annoy other road users.

Am I mad? Yes, yes I am

But I dont know if your RC40 has something living in it or something because you can barely even tell mine's any louder than the standard one, it just sounds a bit less farty and tinny.... Besides, when you're 15 and you've just fitted a new exhaust to your car, you're dissapointed when it doesnt give you a headache within the first mile or so

Think you must have a special "quiet version", seeing as mine, and everyone i know with a RC40 is already deafening lol :genius:
