I can't remember what we did this year. We did get a parade lap, mostly to ourselves right at the end of the open session on the Monday, but I think it was individually paid for. We can't guarantee a parade lap, or free time on the track, so it doesn't make sense to charge people for it, and then have 50 refunds to make if it doesn't happen.

I'd like to have another lap at Brands, but again it all depends on what time our ferry is.

we did read at the ring, £1000 per hour + cost of ambulance which is around £100 an hour or something.

But if the turnout was like this year.. that would be fairly cheap. :strongsad:

Hi Charlie and gang i was one of last years Silverringrally runners, i am newish to this site and scene (lst year being my first) i have just noticed you also do a run. What do you do different on your run that would make me want to do this instead? The most fun i had last year was on the mini only time on the ring, i was reading above do you not rent the ring? Also which camp site do you stay at?

I'm sooo up for this.

I went this year on the bike with a couple of mates. Was simply excellent fun, if a bit scary on a bike. I did however meet Sabine in the ticket booth!

I also got a couple of laps out with a german racing driver in his Caterham, and also a lap in a race prepped GT3 which was awsome. He was chasing litre bikes down the straights >_<

I shall be keeping an eye open for the applications

How do we apply for this as Minx will have her 1440 in and maybe Vadar will be tec'd then too and I'm gonna woop yo ass!!!!

If there both done, I'll drive one and trailer the other!!

It looks fun if a little scary I must say. What does it all involve, costs etc??

Why I'm very flattered m'dear I didn't know we were a 'we' >_<

I'm having a look at the both the Silver Ring Rally and this one ;) might even be greedy and do both! The SRR is £285 for one person in one car - but I cannot find what it includes... I assume it is ferry and camping. Petrol will very much depend on you :P but laps of the ring were 70e (£49) for 4 laps when I went this year

It's amazing fun, it is a bit daunting the first couple of laps - but then you get into it! It's one of those must do things. Before I went I could never understand why people put the 'ring' stickers on the back of their cars - but now I have been and done, I can understand fully!

The drive there is mind numbingly boring tho >_<

As far as im aware SRR includes;

Ferry
Camping
2 nights in Hotel
Run pack
and possibly laps at tracks.

Which is exactly what bh2nRetro includes (except laps)

£285 for one person in a car, (£315 for 2 people one car) or under £250 with bh2nRetro (price tbc for 09) I know which ill be going on.

Mike, you know ill be there. I'll send you a postcard to let you know we all arrive ok seeing as your mini I still sat in the same sorry state it was last week, and the week before that.

I wouldn't say the drive there or back is "boring" not when your with us, I mean this year we had cars breaking down, head gaskets going (this year it wasn't mine) and cars smoking (ok THIS was me) and we had quite a good bit of banter on the radios.
