The front centre stud is the head locating dowel. It has less clearance through the head than the others do. It doesn't take much corrosion to gunge it up completely. If you can't remove it with penetrating fluid (WD40 is NOT penetrating fluid, another future FAQ point I think) or with freeze spray or heat then the best thing to do is to remove absolutely everything else, including the manifolds and unscrew the whole assembly. Literally turn the whole head to remove the stud from the block. With the head on the bench it will be far easier to drift the stud through it. This may result in the block or head being scored by the gasket but it's unlikely and the thread is course so the clearance rapidly grows larger than the gasket thickness as you unscrew the head, releasing the gasket. If the head is sliding from side to side a little then it is already released and compression is lost so it's unlikely that any compression method of removal will work.
