im currently at the stage where i need to put the head back together on my project engine and i really dont want to have to strip it down any more
yep its a 1293 and i pulled the rods straight out

i dont want to find out tho so im killing time on the pc instead

i love mini people, i get told what to do then i even get a diagram to go with it awsome i cant wait to get driving again, can u belive it blew the head gasket less than an hour after i bought it and i forgot to check for water in the rad, massive overheating. O well at least i have leant - be it the hard way, cheers guys

You'll be ok with a large bore lump, nowhere for the follower to go.

but they can fall out onto their side and then you are stuffed. it doesnt have a tube all the way up for each rod Ethel.

They can in small bore blocks, not in 1275's.

ahh sorry yes i was thinking of them droipping into the gearbox. which is why you cant do a cam change in teh car.(well not without a lot of messing around)

Didn't early 1275 Cooper S have removable cam follower covers on the back of the engine?

Yes, all Cooper S models (970, 1071 & 1275) had removablew tappet chest covers >>>>>>>>>>>>
