Lol it takes a while but should come off. You may need white spirit to get the remaining sticky stuff off after tho

White spirit shouldnt affect the paint in any way. If a car is painted properly then thinners wont affect the paintwork. Thats what i use to get glue off every day and ive never had any trouble.

Your bootlid looks awesome.

Are the LEDs bright enough as number plate lights?

Yeah i like my bootlid.
The leds are enough if mounted in the correct place(mine arnt)
Although the ones I bought have realy thin, and fragile wires which keep breaking,
and the wires are so thin the solder won't catch and keeps falling apart.

So ive given up on them and are mounting leds in the bumper to illuminate them.

Just plonking on a ugly trailer light on for my up and coming MOT.

Weirdly ive never had any trouble from the boys in blue for it not being illuminated.

i have to remove vinyl everyday being a signwriter. You shouldn't have to heat it, just get a sharp scalpel under it to lift the edge up so you can peal the rest off - if you're really struggling then use a heat gun.

to get rid of the residue left, use tar and bug remover and clean with water afterwards.

If its just off glass use a stanley knife blade, comes off so easy. Anything left i just use a cloth with some petrol, and clears everything

Aerosol deoderant is very good for removing the glue, I would avoid using thinners, can melt certain types of paint and softens most others.

A spray lubricant like WD40 also removes the glue.
