looking good, can't believe your nearly on 100 pages.
Yeah, and the biggest progress made is on page 1 with the rebuild.
It's developed a really odd noise. Sounds like a fart at full throttle. Sounds almost like an induction leak somewhere, but I couldn't find one. It could be an exhaust leak, but doesn't sound much like one. In 3 ish weeks I finish uni for 3 weeks over easter, so hopefully I can tart it up a bit, and get the engine running better and maybe a few upgrades to it aswell. Oh yeah, and get rid of the fart noise.

That chip should be easy enough to remove and replace. Just need someone with a de-solder kit really and then a neat hand to resolder. And a new chip of course!
Yeah, it is tiny though, I've repaired circuit boards when i was in college, but that thing is teeeeeeeny. Autosportlabs have said they'd repair it for free just got to send it to them. So I'll do that I think, but postage will be a *******!

Sticker brother!
To be fair, I've nicked one or two of your ideas, but I didn't know you had that. I only bought it to test a website ive started using and needed to buy some thing on ebay.
Ummm Tom, if you think you can fix that chip, that's great. But it's one of the small teeny ones on the board. Smaller than my thumb nail and 16 pins. I found the chip on ebay and it's about a quid or two.
If your up to it that's great and there'd be a slab or two of beer waiting for you.

So now running it without one and it sits at around 70. So I'll order a new one now. I'll also order a head gasket set and do that to be safe, will also give me a chance to investigate the funny noise it's recently developed.

I don't mind, the Astra makes things too easy for me so something to think about would be nice
GIT!!!!
I'll e-mail autosport labs one more time and see what they say, as they havn't replied. If they want a million pounds for postage, I'll send it over to you if that's ok. There'll be even more beer waiting for you here for riv. Oh by the way, I found that whistle it was just a split vacuum hose. I was terrified that i'd broken your megajolt!

I've got a head gasket set here, so tuesday or wednesday I'll get that changed along with all other top gaskets. and a new thermostat. Then it's a nice drive back to Wales for a week or two to get it ready for riv run. Hopefully with the straight cut drops, x-pin diff new gearbox, another engine steady, get a bigger carb on it, and a better air filter. Then I should be able to realy light up my tyres leaving the camp site
Also, will be doing a load of weight adding with sound proofing as i'm guessing these drops arn't going to be easy on the ears, as well as a general tidy up to make it more presentable, which should include a new bonnet, grill trims. And maybe a grill if I can stretch the budget.
Don't worry, i'm still persevering with the little POS.
