the blue smoke on the overrun could be and probably is worn valve guides / stem seals.

When do you never need more power, lol :)

Well the bores have got a nice polish on them so I think there is blowby, there is alot of crank case preasure.

Im just going to run it until it gives up.

Any engineering/hardware shop should sell barbed fittings.

Realy is great fun and im 6 seconds a lap faster with the 1380. But it's just no where near powerfull enough for me.

So im going to bolt on all my turbo gear to it and fit all my posh gearbox parts and see where I stand. I just can't be bothered with the gay series engine anymore.

The current gearbox is crap aswell. A golf estate outran me today, not happy at all, the car was laiden with tools and a set of wheels but still, it needs alot more power.

It's too slow for me. I need more power, a golf estate outran me the other day. Not happy about that.

So ordered all my fuel line bits for turbo just now.

I fitted a new tyre to it today to replace the one that fell off. My new (to me) steering wheel is on aswell. Im waiting on some cheques to clear and I'll order the parts for the oil feed to the turbo.

Not much more to get the turbo on then, just need a head I can get some large chambers in, and i should be pretty much ready to go.

Aiming to have it turbo'd by riv run. I know I said this last year!! but it's alot more realistic this time around.

Mate, if there's as much blowby as you say, is it worth throwing money at it?

Why don't you wait a bit longer, and source another block? It'll only cost you a set of rings, and the necessary machining...

After everything you've gone through to get it turbo'd, there's no point in bolting to an engine that can't handle it.

I'll probably port it myself, but opening the chambers, i'd be scared to break into a water way or soemthing. I worked it out to be cheaper to find one thats already been worked on.

Yeah would be good if I could get it done for rivi, Chris has been telling me, you, him and jack are planning on stopping in here before we go?

Looking at the videos of my car on the track, there is no where near as much smoke as people where saying, and it's only on overrun so im pretty sure its stem seals.

It's just a little puff as I slow down.

Go to 3:30 ish and you'll see what I mean.

I thought mine was stem seals when i started smoking in the small bore, but that didn't solve it (as seen by you at MITP!!). Turned out the bores were glazed up, but it was smoking wayyyyy more than yours!!.

Yeah that was what we kinda decided, assuming it's cool with you?.

Yeah it is good, 2 quite technical sections joined by 2 small straights. It's a small track but it's only £80 for the day so im not complaining.

Yeah, well i've seen loads of a-series engines smoke a little and still produce loads of power, so I'll just keep it until it lets go. I don't want to spend any more money on these engines. So once im out of uni and got some money x16xe for me I think.

Yeah it's cool for you to come down on the way to riv, breaks up the trip a bit for the people coming miles away.

Good plan :)

And yeah it's a bit of a mission over there for us, but rivi is high on the "to do" list this year, so it's gotta be done!
