i presume your using panel prep or prepaint wipes?

Nope, do you think that's whats causing the reactions? I've never used them and never had problems.
Do you think I should get some?

lol, definately! The reaction is being caused by contaminents such as silicone from polishes, or the oil from your skin, etc. Halfrauds sell some paint preperation wipes, their pretty good, and fairly cheap.

Yeah I knew that bit :D

Just never had any reaction problems before, but im spraying parts of the car that are regularly waxed and polished, even though it was rubbed down.

I'll try the cloths tomorrow.

I got the panel prep wipes. Still reacting.

I give up on the paint, it looks like my car has herpes.

The door is covered in dust so looks lighter. The match is pretty good.

Reaction. Gave up.

Posted Image

Got that to match up a bit better.

Posted Image

Then decided to do most of the front panel.

Posted Image

Looks alright to me, bonnet and grill are letting it down now.

I got overspray all over it, so will polish up all the metal trim with my new polishing kit when it arrives. And eventualy get a new bonnet/grill.

I was going to give my front arches a new coat of paint anyway as the last go came out a bit matt. So it starting to come together.

Apart from the roof.

Ebay :)

Now i've sorted the body, I can carry on with my mechanical/electrical work tomorrow.

I will cut back the new paint and buff it up to a nice shine, on the harder paint it seemed to take well to being polished up.

So will let it harden properly and cut it back and polish.

Thanks
Ben

I've got to get the horn working, sort the wipers as the motor can only push 1 wiper. I've got to wire up some small lights onmy dash aswell.

Then fit my harbor07 titanium gearbox steady.

My bonnet is a cheap second hand fibreglass thing off ebay that has cracked and bent.

I want to get another better condition bonnet and a mk1 grill.
