did u check or change the needle roller bearing in the housing when u had it all apart?Dean



They appeard ok, I checked them and seemed to be fine.

Nope, engine is fine, that's been checked, im almost certain it's something in the flywheel assembly or drop gears, I just have no idea what it might be.

Do you have another transfer case you could swap it with to check the bearings inside that? Saves pulling and fitting new bearings in the one you have that's all.

I had a similar noise on one of my old cars.

The verto clutch/flywheel was damaged. a couple of bolts had come loose in the clutch/flywheel setup.

I've dismantlted it and retorqued it all nicely.

What part was damaged?

Mine didn't look like that at all, it looked fine. Im stumped.

All the drop gear clearances fine? Even Idler?
