Carbon doors? Polycarb windows? Loose the bumpers and bumper seams? Carbon grille, drilled of course. Carbon mirrors? Motorbike battery, Carbon Headlight rings, window winding mechanism is really heavy. Just some ideas?

All of that costs money, but yeah looking to do those things in the future.

Take a look at every part of the car no matter how small, 10%ish of its weight should be able to be removed or if possible refabricate in a lighter material to save around 50% of its weight. It takes time though, Ive spent 10 years getting around 230kg off my Sprint. Its currently around 420kg, I reckon with some carbon fibre it could go down to around 385kg giving close to 400bhp per ton

Yeah, your sprint has inspired me to go lighter.

400hp per ton? Thats truely awsome.

Although it has to be remembered this is my everyday car, and still has to be useable to go down to the shops.

Im hoping to be able to do a 16 second 1/4 mile with it at MITP.

2nd gear syncro is gone, normal driving you don't notice it.

Changing down is the worst.

You can lose a lot of the doors with a grinder / holesaws if you put the effort in. If you have the tools you could maybe make up some CF/ alloy A panels.

And by the way, we have one odd FG doorskin here thats never gonna get used if you're interested in it?

I started with the holesaw, but it was a rubbish one. Will try again with the bosch ones you recomended.

I'll keep going with the weight loss, i've been trying to get loads done recently, but keep getting distracted by things.

Will loose 2kg tomorrow, I promise.

 Good man! The Bosch ones seem really good to me. Drilled through 6mm plate at home and a 9mm girder at work with them!

I can tell your thinking twice about it :).

I've just lost a crap load from a door. Still uses glass wind up windows. Don't know how much though :)

That lot weighs a ton though!

I have also been refurbing a vented 4 pot setup.

It all weighs loads!

Money is slowing me down at the moment though.

You can hear a bad noise when off the clutch. Hoping it's clutch release bearing.

Its more likely to be the release bearing when on clutch from experience (as in pedal down). Is it the rattling noise or the squeaking you're on about?

Rattling/banging

The squeeking is the exhaust.

When I push the clutch down it goes away.

I'm thinking drop gears to be honest. Does it make the noise when accelerating?

All the time unless the clutch pedal is down.

I've never looked or thought twice about a release bearing so no idea what they're meant to be like, so will wait for my old man to come home and have a look.

Crank end float is fine aswell. So im pretty sure whatever the problem, it's going to be in the flywheel area. The clutch pedal action was not smooth either but is now i've taken the slave cylinder off. Oil preassure was normal aswell, so im pretty sure it's not bottom end knock as that would probably show up in low oil preasure.
So im thinking it's release bearing or flywheel problem.

I want to spend around £2k on this car before end of summer.
