Throttle return spring sorted.

Now needs a good tune, the flowed carb has thrown the fueling right out.
Will wait for a new lambda probe to arrive and then sort it.

Got some weight shed aswell today.

Looking good Ben!. Wish I had a sounds system to take out, might see some big results then :D. Have you got a headlining in?? I took mine out and weighed it in at 4kg+ IIRC

I'm probably wrong again so ignore that :P

Yeah, going to leave it in.

Trying to only remove stuff I can return back to normal at the moment. Or atleast stuff that's hidden.

I've got loads of sound proofing I put in when I was going for acoustics, so will remove that.

Probably 5-10 kg there, it's on the bulkhead, inside the boot and all over the parcel shelf.

No idea how to get it off though, it like a sticky goo.

Don't know what to do next about lightening it. I need stuff that is very cheap, preferably free.

Good work :D It's suprising how much a small sound system weighs isn't it.

Yeah, that doesn't include:

headunit, wiring, or the front 4 speakers.

Fibreglass bootlid and holesaw next I think, also might start making some carbon parts if I can get some money together.

I think I've lost around 25 or more kg in the last 2 months.

Rollcage adds a lot of weight back in, so trying to offset that.

i found my whole saftey devices cage suprisingly light:S

anyways personally i would take the headlining out and replace it with acoustic material... like on amps and such... i beleive camp freddy has some on his dash? just glue it directly to the roof.... looks bob on in my book... and gets rid of all the metal hangers...

If you could mate, that would be great.

Don't know what to take out now.

Bought a hole saw, and it went blunt after 1 hole cut.

Tried drilling this, but it wouldn't drill down straight.

I tried to get it close too harber07's pedal, no where near, that took around 30 mins, and I broke 2 drill bits doing this.

3.154 KG lost today. Not good enough, theres a quarry near here which apparently don't mind people using their weigh bridge.
Theres not much more to remove now, it's just going to be drilling things, boring holes with a better holesaw.

Then it's going to be a case of replacing things with lightweight counterparts.

Is there nothing you can drill in the engine bay?

How about the clutch cover?

EDIT: Have you seen Paul Wiginton's sprint? His thread might give you some ideas.
