Oh bums.
Timing cover gasket is leaking, I thought it might though, I used a used gasket and lot's of sealent although it didn't work, I think the cover might be bent aswell.
I will order a nice new gasket and fit it when it arrives.
Im just going to have to keep topping up the oil and keep the car off the drive for now.
Im slowly putting the interior back together, oh and it's rather loud with absolutly no sounds proofing or carpet now.

good job getting it back on the road, and you can't beat the sound of no carpets.
Just took it for a quick blast, and wow. My word that is loud, no bulkhead sound proofing and no carpet, sound deadening etc.
Going to need ear defenders, I think I might take the sound system out aswell, it's just far too heavy

My engine is near enough standard apart from breathing modifications and I have no sound deadening or carpets, you get used to it after a while I guess your 1380 is a bit louder though. Had mine like it for over year. I'm down to 1 seat now Next thing you know you'll be ditching the heater and drilling holes in everything

Yeah, it's realy loud, I drove my 998 like this for 2 days, and it no where near compares. I think I'll leave the heater in, this is my daily car, and as soon as it rains, I need the heater to de-mist the windscreen. Also im skint at the moment, as soon as I get a summer job, I'll be buying some hole saws.
hi there lovely car mate and top work as allways have you got a piece of trim on the front valance at the botton if so what type is it
thx
dean maitland
It's just some seam trim, like you get on the sills or over the arches.
Thanks

Probably take it out in the next couple of days, I will replace the radio slot with some gauges, and probably more alluminium plate.
I've got a thing for alluminium now.
I needed some wires to run gauges in the car. I don't like wires now though, seeing as I managed to tidy up my engine bay, so scewed a fusebox to the inside of the glove box.
Did some painting, aswell, did this both sides, and tidied up the rear bulkhead. I need more paint though, I started to run out just as I got to this panel.

Take out anything you don't need.
Spare wheel/jack replaced with tyreweld can etc.
Polycarbonate windows
composite panels
rear beam and coilovers
minifins
replace some bracketry with alloy or even composite parts
Drill things
cut holes
cut out inner skins
lighweight seats
remove excess wiring
replace as many components with lightweight counterparts
alloy wheels
alloy suspension
Pretty much all of which I havn't got the funds too do. But you realy realy notice the difference the more you do.

Adjustable tie bars aid to adjust things, but adjustable bottom arms allow negative camber which is what realy improves the handling.

Some are, my one is not. Not had any problems yet though.

Not realy, just clean the panel well, then get a squirty bottle full of soapy water so you can move them about once in the right position squeegy out the water, job jobbed.
