Then welding up old seat mounting holes, and weld the handbrake bracket back on. Still need more practice at welding, but slowly getting better.
I think these might be in order.
Seal fitted properly this time.
Floor cleaned and holes starting to be filled.
Crappy welding.
Welding here is actualy pretty good, but picture makes it look crappy.
Still need to work on hole filling.
A bit better.
Then started to practice more welding, I did this the majority of the way along the cross member.
Engine bay before. (very messy wiring)
Engine bayh after, still messy, but not as bad.
I forgot to get a picture of the interior, but all is welded up, some of it primered.
Didn't get a picture of the engine either, but that is complete, and ready to be dropped back in tomorrow.
After I've welded up front subframe, fitted new tower bushes.
Then rewire the bit's I will need, which is rad fan, air horn, and my gauges.
I am going to try and do this with no wiring on show, and maybe even hide what wires are on show now.
Loooooooooads more to do and idealy has to be done by tomorrow, if not friday morning.

40 minutes the get the engine out and gearbox off is my best time.
However the work i've been doing this week has been sooooooooo relaxed. Been doing a couple of hours here and there.
I need to pull my finger out to get it done ready to drive back to uni and then on to bristol mini show on sunday, where it will be on show for everyone too see.
One thing i've realised is that I have no blue paint left to tart up the front end. And as it's not a common colour, it costs quite a lot to get it mixed.
I have no money, so not sure, a load of paint under the headlight flaked off when I played with it.

it might be bristol that niel is trying to convince me to go to but im not sure:/ might see you there if mine is working ok
Cool, I hope to get the engine bay looking posh, so I can take my bonnet off at shows and not feel embarrased.

Needs a lick of paint.
Needs tidying and painting.
Hopefully today is painting, weld subframe and engine back in. Maybe wire up a few things first, not sure.

Floors painted. I used hammerite, and brushed it on. It's not realy seen anyway.
Cheers guys, yeah a little bit of learning Bimu, but mainly just learning to take my time, if you've read through some of my posts, I always rush things and make stupid mistakes, like forgettting bit's of engine and having to stip it all back to fit it.
Not too much left to do, hope to get the majority done my tonight. Got to drive it 70 miles back to uni tomorrow.
Oh yeah just realised i've got a balljoint to sort aswell. Fun times.

Finally all the welding is done!!!!!!!!!
Don't mind welding, I hate grinding though
I tried welding from the inside, but it wouldn't go, so welded from the outside, better but was quite rusty and difficult. Hidden by the arch anyway.
Here is where the subframe split, I welded a perfect bead along it, I was very happy, then went over it a couple of times just to make sure, and now it looks poo, atleast I know it's strong.
Started painting a few bits that were looking tatty,
There were a number of holes along here, some factory ones that were never used, and some were holes for self tappers that had grown, and wouldn't hold a screw.
So welded up and will drill new ones for the grill screws.
Painted.
When I stood up, I dragged my back along the workmate's jagged metal frame.
This hurt sooooo much, im not usualy one to wimp out at an injury, but that realy hurt.
Left too do:
Fit tower mounts
Fit engine and all acompanying parts (exhaust, rad etc)
Re-fit interior
Ball joint
Wire up things.
There is not enough time

ENgine is completly siezed, no idea why, it was turning freely when I torqued up the flywheel and pulley bolts.
Now completly siezed, put it in forth and push the car and the tyres just skid.
Car is a piece of crap.
