Nice to see some progress ben, dont listen to people's critisism as they're usually just jelous. Pah, I had one guy come up to me when I was stood with amys car polishing in the engine bay and say "That thing's falling to bits with you!" Pointing to the one missing rad bolt because some *melon* of a previous owner sheared it off! I just gave him a funny look and held my tounge lol.
Hope it wasnt me who cut to the bone when I said "I remember when it looked nice!" haha You know I was messin :D But seriously, who's close to gettin a kick in the chops? I'll kick his face off lol

Someone said amy's mini was falling apart? but it's mint?!

Love too see these peoples cars and just pick holes in every fault.

thanks 1380 rich.

Did more work today.

Posted Image

rubbed down a load of rust.

Posted Image

Primed and painted

Posted Image

Laquered it, and when i peeled off the tape I realised that the paint seemed to have shrunk when drying and completly ruined it.
So will have too redo that at some point, I think im going to do fibreglass front at some point.

Posted Image

Subframe back in position

Posted Image

Rack fitted, with new boots and filled correctly with gear oil.

Posted Image

Interior mostly back in place, just need too make up a bracket too hold the gauges that used too be in the centre console.

GOing to try and fit new knuckle joints tomorrow and raise it all round.

Fitted new knuckle jounts, but the old ones were so worn, they had gone through the plastic and started too wear through the top arm.
SO I'll see how long they last.

Raised the suspension all round, it looks soo silly now. Also the front wheel arch that had fallen off (again) is very badly damaged and will not be able to be screwed back on now. So to be legal i've got a set of rover minilites on the front and no arches. Im on the lookout for some standard plastic arches by the way.

I also managed too drive back too uni without any problems, or so I thought, when I got into the bath area a truck driver stopped me and told me my rear lights wern't on. The sidelight circuit wasn't working, fiddled the fuse and they work again now.

So out of my to do list I:

Fit new knuckle joints
fit adjustable lower arms/tie bars
Fit new polyflex bushes
Fit passenger recaro
respray rear arches
refit drivers side front arch (removed front arches completly)
Raise/level out the ride height
Fit oil cooler (tried too but has the wrong fittings)
Fit heater matrix properly too try keep engine cool
fit new steering rack/column
try too tidy up the interior (made it worse)
Refit transfer gear breather
try too sort out engine rocking

For putting those gauges in that were in the centre console couldnt you get some wood/metal & put the gauges in it and put it under the dash on like a bolt
Why did you take the centre console out?

Did my nut in brushing up against the clutch pedal, so much more room without it and the heater works better.

Thanks for the kind words everybody, you are most kind. I've got a couple of pics of it looking silly on biscuit wheels on the front and no arches.

Dropped the gauges into the glove box just for now.

Tidied up some wires where the centre console was. that grey wire is the aux in for the sound system, so thats meant too be there.

Look how silly it looks!! >_<

I need too get some new arches as my wood and picket copies are knackered on the front, as they screw into the arch lip and where the car was soo low the tyres rubbed away the fibreglass.

Posted Image

These are the arches I want, but they are quite expensive, they look similar too the current ones, but they screw into the wings not the lip, so I can lower the car again, cut the wings a bit and slam it!

Ben,
I have got some sportpacks if you want them, I may have some standard ones too, they will tide you over until you get the ones you want. When are you back in Bath? Bring your paint and I will sort your bonnet for you too.

Im back in bath now, I don't have my paint with me, not that bothered about the bonnet anymore, more bothered about getting the car back too being driveable.

Hehe cant help but chuckle at that a bit ben
To be fair it looks stunning in the top pics, I think just getting the autosol out on the front end out would help no end. And take your indicators off and clean inside them with a damp cloth. Makes a big difference.
