Engine is in and running, thankfully, as it was a bit stiff, but started straight away.

Bit of a problem though, the timing chain is catching on the cover though. Its very bad, im going too have too sort that before it sees the road, don't realy want the timing chain to snap, then it would realy be knackered.

Annoyed at that but at least the rebuilt engine works.

Wasn't catching, the tensioner was far too tight. Sorted now and runs fine. Now just final assembly and I may get it out of the garage today.

Well what can i say, I was driving the car around an industrial estate trying too set up the acewell dash, got that spot on and all was well. Then it made screaching noise and ground too a halt. Well I turned it off and it wouldn't restart.

Don't know what too do now. I was towed home and I thought maybe I could get it too turn over, (thinking the battery was dead) so when in 3rd and taking my foot off the clutch the car pulled too the left.

So Im not sure what could possily be wrong.

Not at all, doesnt move, even when being towed by the van, lifting up the clutch it made a weird noise and still wouldnt spin.

I think im going too give up on it. Save up for a hatchback.

Just realised I spent £200 rebuilding the engine in the last 2 weeks. I could have bought a cheap hatch for that.

I just can't see any way that I can keep this car, im terrified too leave it any where. It drinks fuel, costs quite a bit too insure, I can't put anything in it and it's in the garage more than the road.

Fair play. At the end of the day do whats best money wise. Mini's can be real deep money pits sometimes with no benefits :teehee:
