Diff cover removed.
The seals were so tightly in the covers I actualy broke one of them while levering them out. Ive never seen them that tight before.
New seals added finally. The seal from the 998 cover came out alot easier and just a tap with a punch.
I got the other diff cover from one of my old 998's.
New valve stem seals added, and then vavles inserted back into the head.
Then I realised that the roller bearing here was damgaed and some of the rollers had come out.
Does anyone know what its called so I can buy a new one. Primary input shaft?

Its going to need a wire brushing, priming and then a quick top coat of blue.
It wont be perfect as most of it is hidden under the seam strips then covered in waxoil.
Thankfully that's the only rust on the entire car and its not too bad.
I should recieve shell bearings tomorrow so the engine should come together alot more tomorrow.

Bugger!!!!!!!
Just waiting on Minikel to get back to me as he thinks he may have a spare for me.
Anyway, shells arrived today so crank is in, the other 3 pistons and rods are in, depending if minikel has this piston and when it arrives I should get the block mated to the gearbox and then once my new 1st motion shaft bearing arrives I should be able to get the bell housing on. Still trying to get my head around cam timing though.

Today I wondered over to the garage, Took the exhasut off, took the boot contents out and put the dead battery on trickle charge.
Took out things in the engine bay to let the engine come out easier air horn, washer bottle etc.
I didnt get alot done as there wasn't a jack down there so I couldn't release the drive shafts, gear linkage, engine mounts etc.
Depending on the post tomorrow ill probably be back down the garage with a jack.
