cheers mate, same set up to mine except ive got gmax dampers. I thought the gmax's were good when I first got them years ago, but ive not had any other dampers so dont know any different from gmax. Ive been looking at the gaz ones and they seem great value for money.

People seem to slate gmax so im expecting a fair difference!

Collected my roll cage front section today. Will fit that as soon as. Didn't manage alot today. All I did was change the oil filer as mine grew a little hole, even though it was my fault. I had too change it in a car park with absolutly no tools at all. Just had too twist it of with my hands. My god I almost had a hernia doing it.

So will try sort out the new bonnet tomorrow, maybe respray the rear arches. Carphone warehouse still havn't given me back my phone though, so still now pictures. Still have a little oil leak, but just going too have too live with it for now.

My inlet mods seem to have given me more low down torque aswell. :D

Does anyone know how thick the glass on the side windows is? I want too replace them with polycarbonate alternatives, too try bring some weight down.

As now I have a very heavy mini.

Fitted the cage today. Managed to put a massive crack in both sides of my dash doing it. I think the rear cage is about 10mm too far forwars. Ah well I want too cover it anyway. I stonechipped the sills, repainted the door cards/door pockets. Re-attatched the amp. Sorted out a couple more electrical niggles and reset the carb.

Yeah, was looking into polycarbonate. Very strong, they even use it in riot sheilds. Although when ever I say it people usualy go  :) .

I know the fella who built la *woman of ill repute* the mini and la *woman of ill repute* 2 the trailer used tinted stuff in the trailer. I was going too use some light smoked stuff for cheap/easy window tinting.

Just got unloaded off the RAC van, I knew I should have given it a new crank when it was out. Clutch pedal is sold and the clutch arm is fully into the clutch housing. Engine rebuild it is then.

Today I bought a big money tin. It will be called the turbo fund. I desperatly want boost now. And turbo seems the better way too go about it.

Chriiiiiiiiiist! Unlucky mate, gutted to hear it =[

Are you planning to add the turbo in this rebuild, or at a later date?

Been watching this project since i joined the board, it's certainly been a roller coaster... Good luck with the rebuild mate. :)

Cheers, Paul.

Not sure, I could mock up the turbo setup on this engine, but it's got high compression and I don't realy want too melt the powermax pistons in it. This engine is realy not meant for boost. Maybe low preasure, 4 or 5 psi.

Well, my fault I should have changed the crank when the flywheel came off in the first place.

I've got a few cranks on the cards at the moment, although it may be possible too get a whole 1275 that needs a rebuild. I will take the crank for that and then track down another one for that and build it into a turbo.

I just need too track down some turbo bits now.

Thanks mate, ignition leads were off a classic car ebay shop, I would look it up for you but it was a while ago and would have timed out.

The dash also came from an ebay shop after the one I ordered from minispares didn't turn up.

Sorry I can't be any more help.

I just collected a short 1275 engine. I will use the crank to repair the 1380.

Then this engine will be the base for the turbo engine. Unfortunatly I will probably only be using the block from it, as the rest wouldn't be suitable.

just stripped the 1275 completly. The crank is in ok condition and will do for the 1380.

Just need all new shells for it, and then all the gaskets.

Then track down the crank and pistons too build the turbo engine. I have 2 good pistons but need too find another 2 for it.
