Fair play though, seemed to be plenty of grunt in that powerplant, specially on cam :w00t:
Had to copy you on the way out though, went a bit sideways hehe :w00t:

Yeah, gotta love a bit of sideways :w00t:

I didn't notice you doing it aswell. Was kinda concentrating on not spinning, ha ha

Yeah me and amy didnt leave with the rest of you, we turned round and all of a sudden everyone had buggered off! It was just us and roger left, then a guy with a hornet/elf came over wanting to park up with us, and I said yeah go for it, but we're off! Where did everyone go? Home? Or did you all go for a spin?

Yeah well everyone decided too leave, I thought I might aswell, there wasn't alot too do there.

After the long run, I've been terrified of breaking my lovely new engine so Im fitting loads of gauges.

At the moment I have, vaccum, oil preasure, water temp and my fuel ratio gauge.

Posted Image

Making the gauge mount.

Posted Image

took me ages to file and sand the holes bigger as my hole cutter was a bit too small

Posted Image

and painting, I may cover it though, will have too see how the paint finishes.

So now im going to fit, oil temp, my current water temp gauge and a volt meter in my new gauge mount.

and have my ratio gauge, vaccum and oil pressure in the dash above the now broken head unit.

fitting new gauges is always a faf the wires and making holes big enough on the dash or fabricating a mount

Ohhhhhhhh, yeah, I need to do some wire organising. Thankfully volt gauge is 2 wires, the water temp is just 1 capilary. And now I need to track down an oil tmep gauge.

I finished the new gauge mount, after painting it I spotted some acoustic carpet I had laying around. So thought why not, and now im glad I did. I think I will give the centre panel of the console the same treatment.

Any way, ive moved all the gauges around now, so I have all my magnolio backlit gauges above the head unit, and 3 black, with black bezels in the centre.

The smiths gauge has since been replaced by my matching black TIM water temp gauge, and straightened to remove the little gap on the top right of the panel.

Currently making the engine run a little sweeter using the ratio gauge.

Lol that's from the show on sunday, I didn't even go camping, only there for about 2 hours aswell!! Horrible wet grass. I'll bang the matts tomorrow to get it off, I hoovered it the day before the show aswell :)

Anyway, as i've got around another 2 and a half months off from uni, im getting bored very easily, so have lot's of little projects.

Today I have decided to make an oil catch tank, but alot cheaper than the ones for sale currently.

Bought a water bottle for £4.13

Drilled and filled the hole out too accept the bulkhead fitting I recieved from a very helpful forum member a little while ago.

Posted Image

I then found a small copper fitting in my dad's box of plumbing bits, and siliconed in a 5/8" - 1/2 " reducer I bought from ebay a couple of days ago.
Posted Image

Then took it all apart again too spary it, it will be flouresant yellow like many of the other things in the engine bay.

Posted Image

I'll got out and do more spraying now and update again before I go to bed.

Liking the gauges, but now where will you put things to dry when the water gets in? :)

Genius idea for the oil catch tank, I want one of the nice chromey ones but they're too expensive

Urrrrr, shhhhhh, it's knackered now, won't accept CD's or anything. Everything else seems seems to be working ok though.

Yeah, the ones buy off the shelf are realy expensive for what they are I think. Mine should work just aswell too.

I was going to spray the catch tank flouresant with 2 red stripes but I had a run in the red paint, so I rubbed it all down and just sprayed it red.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Sprayed a spare washer bottle aswell.

Posted Image

Fitted it and plumbed it in.

Posted Image

Just mounted not plumbed in yet.

Posted Image

Plumbed in!
Posted Image

Still need to tidy it up a little, I will get rid of the zip ties and fit it with something a bit nicer, no sure what yet though, any ideas?
